Growth mindset

According to Carol Dweck, best selling author of Mindset, most people enter adulthood with a fixed mindset and assume that our level of talent and ability is set in stone, the fixed mindset. This deep belief leads us to live in fear that we will be defined by our next performance, success or failure which can be paralysing. Trying something new can be terrifying because it represents a great opportunity to fail and hence define oneself as a loser. I believe this is one of the biggest barriers to change and one that needs to be considered in therapy which is why I seek to impart an element of the growth mindset in most of my treatments.

Hypnotherapy can help you change the way you think to adopt a more relaxed approach to failing, and a healthy growth mindset that promotes experimentation and learning. This also improves our ability to change.
